1. Agreement

By signing up to be an Affiliate in the Global Book Ambassador Program ("Program"), you are agreeing to be bound by the following terms and conditions ("Terms of Service").

The Book Ambassador Program reserves the right to update and change the Terms of Service from time to time without notice. Any new features that augment or enhance the current Program, including the release of new tools and resources, shall be subject to the Terms of Service. Continued use of the Program after any such changes shall constitute your consent to such changes.

Violation of any of the terms below will result in the termination of your Account and forfeiture of any outstanding affiliate commission payments earned during the violation. You agree to use the Affiliate Program at your own risk.

2. Account Terms

• You must be 16 years or older to be part of this Program.
• You must live in a country other than Pakistan to be an Affiliate. If you are a Pakistani, please apply through our Local Ambassador Program. 
• You must be a human. Accounts registered by "bots" or other automated methods are not permitted.
• You must provide your legal full name, a valid email address, and any other information requested in order to complete the signup process.
• Your login may only be used by one person - a single login shared by multiple people is not permitted.
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and password. We cannot and will not be liable for any loss or damage from your failure to comply with this security obligation.
• You are responsible for all Content posted and activity that occurs under your account.
• One person or legal entity may not maintain more than one account.
• You may not use the Affiliate Program for any illegal or unauthorized purpose. You must not, in the use of the Service, violate any laws in your jurisdiction (including but not limited to copyright laws).
• You may not use the Affiliate Program to earn money on your own product accounts except during the initial 3-month launch period, when we are allowing ambassadors to earn commissions on their own orders. This temporary exception is offered to support accessibility, scale awareness, and reward early adopters. After the 3 months end, the commissions on self-purchase would be disabled. Abuse of this policy may result in the account suspension.
• You must not be a resident of Israel. Due to legal, ethical, and other reasons, we do not offer any participation in our programs to individuals residing in Israel. We appreciate your understanding.
• You must agree to the general Terms of Use of this site.

3. Book Ambassador Links & Graphics Policy

Once you're approved as a Book Ambassador, you'll receive a unique Ambassador Code. You can use this code in your personalized referral links, banners, or graphics that we will provide. You may share these links and materials:

• On your website or blog (if you have one)
• In your emails or messages
• On your social media accounts
• Or in other types of personal outreach and communication

To make sure your referrals are properly tracked:

• You'll need to use the correct link formats we give you
• These links include your Ambassador Code, which helps us identify your referrals
• We call these “Special Links”

We’ll also give you clear guidelines, designs, and sample images to use when promoting the book. These visuals may be updated over time, but we’ll try not to change sizes without letting you know.

In addition to the materials we provide, you are welcome and encouraged to create your own images, captions, videos, or content to promote the book in your own unique voice and aesthetic. We love seeing creativity that fits naturally with your platform — just make sure your Special Link is included when sharing.

You will only receive your commission if someone buys the paperback book by clicking on your Special Link. If the link is broken, missing your code, or if someone manually types the website without using your referral, we won’t be able to track or credit that sale.

Important: Make sure your links go directly to the book’s sales page whenever possible.

4. Referral fees/commissions and payment

For a product sale to qualify for a commission, the customer must complete their purchase using your unique referral link or code during the same session. Our system automatically tracks eligible referrals — commissions can only be earned if the sale is properly recorded through our platform. We do not offer manual adjustments for untracked referrals, even if a buyer claims to have used your link or code. To ensure fair and consistent payouts for everyone, only correctly formatted and system-verified links or codes will generate commissions.

Commission rates vary by product and ambassador tier, but the minimum threshold for payout is just one successful book sale (typically around $3–$4). Each payout is only processed after the referred order has been delivered and verified — this helps protect against cancellations, returns, or fraudulent orders. We reserve the right to withhold or disqualify commissions earned through spam, fake referrals, coupon misuse, illegal activity, or overly aggressive or misleading tactics. Ambassadors engaging in such practices may be removed from the program without notice.

Note: While we aim to release payments quickly — even for small amounts — please note that transaction fees (such as bank or platform charges) are deducted from your payout. If these fees significantly reduce your earnings, we may temporarily hold payouts until your balance reaches $20 USD to avoid excessive losses on micro-transactions. This is done solely to protect your earnings and ensure the process remains sustainable. This flexible structure is intentionally designed to support students, small creators, and early supporters, and we’ll always prioritize releasing your commissions as soon as it’s feasible.

5. Identifying yourself as an Affiliate

You are welcome, and encouraged to share your experience as a Book Ambassador on social media, blogs, YouTube, or in personal conversations. We love when our community spreads the word authentically.

However, there are a few boundaries to keep in mind: 1) You may not issue official press releases, media statements, or public announcements that sound like they are on behalf of Sadia Hakim or this platform. Only we can speak formally for the program. 2) You are free to say you are a Book Ambassador, but please don’t misrepresent the relationship, for example, don’t say you’re part of our internal team, that you developed our products, or that you’re officially employed by us. 3) You may not claim or imply that we sponsor, support, or endorse other causes, organizations, or personal beliefs unless we've clearly approved it. 4) You may not use your own affiliate link to purchase for personal use, except during the 3-month grace period we’ve introduced to help ambassadors get started. (Details in FAQ.)

We truly value your voice and creativity, and these guidelines are just to protect the integrity of the program for everyone involved.

6. Payment schedule

You will receive your ambassador payout after each confirmed qualifying sale — no minimum payout threshold applies. Once the referred order is successfully delivered and verified, your commission will be marked as “approved” and processed in the next available payout cycle.

We aim to pay all ambassadors as promptly as possible, while maintaining fairness and accuracy. Payouts are typically processed weekly or monthly, depending on the volume of referrals and total payout queue.

Please note:

• Transaction or processing fees may apply depending on the selected payment method (e.g., bank transfer, Payoneer, Visa). These charges will be deducted from your payout if applicable.
• For very small commission amounts (e.g., under $3), fees may temporarily reduce your net payout to a lower amount — in such cases, we may wait to process payment until a larger total has accumulated, unless you request otherwise.
• You can always reach out if you prefer your commission held or bundled into a future payout to avoid high transfer fees.
• We are committed to transparent and timely payments, and our goal is to support every ambassador, especially students or early creatives, in growing together with us.

7. Customer definition

Customers who buy products through this Program will be considered our customers. Accordingly, all of our policies, terms, and procedures related to orders, customer support, product availability, and sales will apply to these customers.

We reserve the right to update our policies and pricing at any time. Product prices and availability may vary due to region, promotional campaigns, or platform-specific factors. For this reason, we recommend avoiding specific price mentions on your own platforms — but you're free to do so if you choose.

We will continue to provide accurate and up-to-date information through our official website and communication channels.

8. Your responsibilities

As a Book Ambassador, you are fully responsible for how you choose to promote your affiliate links whether that’s through a personal blog, social media page, or other platforms.

Here’s what that includes:

• Maintaining your own platform(s) — whether it’s a website, Instagram account, newsletter, or something else.
• Making sure any affiliate links or materials you share don’t violate agreements with any third-party platforms you use (like your blog host, Instagram, YouTube, etc.).
• Ensuring that all the content you create and share including posts, videos, or captions about the book is truthful, respectful, and clearly yours.
• Not infringing on anyone else’s rights — like copying someone’s photos, logos, or private content without permission.
• Avoiding any posts or claims that are harmful, misleading, or illegal.
• Being clear and transparent with your audience about how you collect or share information if you run a website or newsletter that gathers user data. (This mostly applies if you're using tools like cookies or analytics on a blog.)

We trust your creativity and honesty — and encourage you to express your own voice while promoting the book with love and integrity.

9. Compliance with Laws

As a condition to your participation in the Program, you agree that while you are a Program participant, you will comply with all applicable laws, ordinances, rules, regulations, orders, licenses, permits, judgments, decisions, or other requirements of any governmental authority that has jurisdiction over you — whether those laws are now in effect or come into effect in the future during your time as a Program participant.

This includes (but is not limited to) laws related to data privacy, advertising, consumer protection, and digital marketing. You are solely responsible for understanding and following any laws that apply in your country or region.

Without limiting this obligation, you also agree to comply with all applicable laws that govern marketing emails — including, where applicable, the CAN-SPAM Act of 2003 in the United States, as well as any other anti-spam and privacy laws in your region. Failure to comply may result in termination from the Program and forfeiture of unpaid commissions.

All taxes or income reporting is your responsibility. We will not issue any tax documents. Please maintain your own records and consult a tax professional if needed.

10. Term of the Agreement and Program

• This Agreement begins upon our acceptance of your application to join the Affiliate Program and will remain in effect until terminated by either party.

• You may terminate this Agreement at any time, with or without cause, by giving us written notice. Similarly, we may terminate this Agreement at any time, with or without cause, by notifying you in writing.

• Upon termination (by either party), you must immediately stop using and remove all links to https://sadiahakimofficial.com, as well as any of our brand materials — including trademarks, logos, and any content provided to you as part of the Program.

• We reserve the right to suspend or end the Affiliate Program at any time. If the Program is discontinued, we will pay any eligible, confirmed earnings that have accrued above the minimum payout threshold $20. 

11. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your participation in the Book Ambassador Program at any time, at our sole discretion, and without prior notice. This may include deactivating your account and revoking access to all or part of the Program or related services. In cases where termination is due to fraudulent, illegal, misleading, or overly aggressive marketing practices, any unpaid or pending commissions may be forfeited and will not be paid out. We also reserve the right to refuse service to any individual or affiliate at any time, for any reason, including but not limited to violation of these terms, misuse of affiliate materials, or behavior we deem harmful to the brand or community.

12. Relationship of Parties

You and we are independent parties. Nothing in this Agreement creates a partnership, joint venture, agency, employment, or franchise relationship between us. You are not authorized to act on our behalf or represent us in any official capacity. Please avoid making any claims, online or elsewhere, that imply otherwise.

13. Limitations of Liability

We will not be liable for any direct, indirect, special, incidental, or consequential damages — including (but not limited to) loss of income, profits, business opportunities, or data — arising from this Agreement or the Program, even if we’ve been advised of the possibility of such damages. In any case, our total liability under this Program will be strictly limited to the actual referral commissions payable to you at the time.

14. Book Ambassador Program  Disclaimers

The Book Ambassador Program is an independent affiliate initiative created by the author, Sadia Hakim, to help readers, creatives, and community members earn a small commission for recommending The Weight of Tender Things or any other future publications by the author. This is a grassroots program, not operated by a company or publishing house, and is built on mutual trust, respect, and transparency.

Participation in this program does not create any kind of employment, business, or agency relationship between you and Sadia Hakim. All commissions are shared as a token of gratitude for your authentic recommendations, and payouts are only made after confirmed deliveries and completion of any return/refund windows.

Please note:

• Commissions are not guaranteed unless the order is successfully fulfilled and within eligible criteria.
• Any affiliate found misrepresenting the book, using unethical sales methods, or violating terms may be removed without notice.
• While every effort will be made to ensure fair tracking, this is a self-managed program and may not always reflect real-time results.
• Sadia Hakim /  www.sadiahakimofficial.com / The Book Ambassador Program is not responsible for any earnings loss, third-party platform errors, or external delays in payments due to bank, card processor, or currency exchange issues.

By joining the program, you agree to these terms and understand that this is a personal initiative by the author — not a commercial enterprise — and is subject to changes, pauses, or termination at any time without prior notice.

15. Independent Investigation

YOU ACKNOWLEDGE THAT YOU HAVE READ THIS AGREEMENT AND AGREE TO ALL ITS TERMS AND CONDITIONS. YOU UNDERSTAND THAT SADIA HAKIM, AS THE AUTHOR AND CREATOR OF THIS PROGRAM, MAY AT ANY TIME (DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY) INVITE CUSTOMER REFERRALS ON TERMS THAT MAY DIFFER FROM THOSE OFFERED TO YOU, OR PROMOTE THE BOOK THROUGH CHANNELS THAT MAY BE SIMILAR TO OR COMPETE WITH YOUR OWN PROMOTION EFFORTS. YOU HAVE INDEPENDENTLY EVALUATED THE DESIRABILITY OF PARTICIPATING IN THIS PROGRAM AND ARE NOT RELYING ON ANY REPRESENTATION, GUARANTEE, OR PROMISE OTHER THAN WHAT IS EXPRESSLY STATED IN THIS AGREEMENT.

16. Arbitration

Any dispute or claim arising out of or relating to this agreement (including any alleged breach), any activities under this program, or your participation in the Book Ambassador Program shall first be resolved under the jurisdiction of Pakistani courts through confidential arbitration, as per the laws of Pakistan. If local arbitration fails to resolve the dispute or international jurisdiction becomes necessary, the matter may be referred to an appropriate international arbitration forum. However, Sadia Hakim, as the author and owner of the program, retains the right to seek injunctive or equitable relief (such as for copyright infringement or intellectual property misuse) in Pakistani courts or any other competent legal venue. To the fullest extent permitted by law, no arbitration under this agreement shall be combined with any other party’s proceedings, whether through class arbitration or otherwise. The arbitrator’s decision shall be binding and enforceable by law.

17. Miscellaneous

This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Pakistan, without regard to any conflict of law principles. Any legal disputes that cannot be resolved through mutual discussion or arbitration shall be subject to the jurisdiction of courts located in Lahore, Pakistan, unless otherwise required by applicable law. You may not transfer, assign, or delegate your rights or obligations under this Agreement without prior written consent from Sadia Hakim. Subject to that, this Agreement will be binding upon, and will inure to the benefit of, both parties and their respective successors and permitted assigns. Our failure to enforce strict performance of any part of this Agreement shall not be construed as a waiver of our right to enforce that or any other provision in the future. Any waiver must be in writing and signed by us to be legally valid. This Agreement constitutes the entire understanding between you and Sadia Hakim regarding your participation in the Book Ambassador Program and supersedes all prior or contemporaneous agreements, communications, and understandings (whether oral or written).
