Komorebi — sunlight filtering through the leaves

Komorebi (koh-moh-reh-bee)

There’s a Japanese word called komorebi, which describes the sunlight filtering through the leaves of trees—the soft glow, the way light and shadow intertwine, creating dancing patterns on the ground. It’s nature’s quiet poetry, a moment of stillness wrapped in golden light.

This emotion has carved itself into my soul—how life, like komorebi, is made of shifting light and passing moments. Some days, the world feels heavy, shadows stretching long, but then a break in the leaves lets the sun in, and suddenly, everything is golden again.

It reminds me that even in the darkest spaces, there are slivers of light waiting to find us. We just have to notice them.
